Impetus of Mao's Cultural Revolution
The very general impulsion for China's Great Leap Forward was that Mao Zedong wanted to introduce and reinforce communist ways back into China. A more specific reason would be, as stated in an article by Rutgers University, “a socioeconomic plan designed to transform China’s agrarian socio economic culture towards an industrialized one.” Chinese farmers, chinese agrarians, peasants of all economic range, and the general people of the Republic of China were affected and the aggressors were the high political powers, Mao Zedong and the Red Guard.
